Former Dale lady appeals to knitters

Margaret Halicioglu (nee Snaith) lives and works in Turkey and has sent an urgent appeal for help from local knitters.  Last year’s earthquake in Van left thousands of homes uninhabitable and destroyed thousands more.  Margaret teaches at Robert College (Turkey’s top school) and is appealing to Weardale folk to knit teddy bears for children to try and bring some comfort into their lives.  For more info visit www.teddiesfortragedies.org.uk or contact Lynn Dent of the Woolyback shop in Stanhope 01388 527700.  Lynn has agreed to give out knitting and crochet patterns for these teddies.
